Residential remodeling spending spiked up 5.9% in March, according to Reed Construction Data. While the bounce may be a statistical blip (Reed’s Chief Economist, Jim Haughey, termed the uptick, “unlikely”), underlying signs of strength support a projection that remodeling activity will continue to strengthen as the year winds on.
