I loved my flip phone. Not because it did much more than make phone calls, but—as the belt clip enthusiast I am—I could put it in a pouch on my toolbelt next to my chalk line (see Uhler’s chalk line review) and not think about it unless it rang.
Now, with near-tablet-sized phones, there’s no place to put them that’s on board with you but not in the way. I’ve cracked the screen bending over with one in my back pocket. So we lean them against the wall or next to us while we work.
With near Star Trek-looking tech, Xiaomi, a Chinese tech firm, seems to have solved that problem in a dazzling, physics-defying bit of tech. It’s so cool. Check it out on Mashable.
