While prices for softwood lumber did not reverse their negative trend, price declines were much smaller in the market segment than in previous weeks, according to Madison’s Lumber Reporter. Additionally, reports of improving U.S. home sales in February and house prices during the first quarter of 2019 are positive signs for the softwood lumber segment.
