Hidden Fastening System For Fascia

Deck builders who use Trex Transcend fascia boards on their projects now have the option to install them with FastenMaster’s Cortex hidden fasteners, instead of color-matched screws. Key to the new system is a counterbore tool that creates an oversize hole for the special 1 3/4-inch screws, allowing the fasteners to accommodate expansion and contraction of long and wide composite fascia without oil-canning or warping, says the manufacturer. Like all Cortex products, the plugs are made of the same material as the fascia, ensuring a perfect color match.
