Because I am an awesome business man and make tons of money, all my trucks are old. My service body E-350 is older than my daughter, who is a senior in high school. And my pickup is almost as geezer-y.
So, while you could make the case I’m frugal, I just find it difficult to fork over 60 to 70K—or more—for a work truck I’m going to fill with mud and 2x4s and downed tree branches and trash, which is why this article from MSN Auto caught my eye.
It breaks down the least expensive—and of course least outfitted—trucks on the market. So while trucks seem to be getting bigger, it might make sense to look at the even less expensive models like the massive-compared-with-the-old-Ford-Ranger new Ford Ranger.
Also, be still my heart, I was today-years-old when I learned that manufacturers still make vinyl-seated, now-power-windows models. If only they’ll bring back the bench seat, I might go shopping.
Last note: These models are 4×2. That’s a deal-breaker for me. I wouldn’t even go in the same parking lot as a 4×2 truck despite its tempting price tag.
