I’ve seen similar saws in the past, European models where the operator pulls a lever and the blade slides forward for cross cutting. That would strike most American carpenters as odd but when you see the video it kind of makes sense – not that I’d ever give up my miter saw. But then in Europe, miter saws are not nearly as common as they are here.
There are a number of things I like about this machine: the folding leg system, its apparent light weight, and the various outfeed tables. The setup for table-mounting a jigsaw (at the 5:00 mark) is kind of cool.
This table saw is available in Europe but not in the U.S.

Unfortunately most of the innovative tools are only available in the EU and we’ll never get them here.
Actually looking at it in more detail, it’s actually a stand that you mount a circular saw to.
This is so cool. The only reason we need a large table is to support the material while it’s being pushed through the blade. If the blade can be pulled through the material then the support area can be reduced.
That is nothing more than an underslung radial arm saw.
