The 2473-22 kit includes an M12 tool, case, charger, two batteries, and three sets of interchangeable jaws (1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″). It retails for between $1,800 and $2,000.

Milwaukee has been busy keeping up with the needs of plumbers – specifically, their need for new kinds of installation tools. A few years back they introduced M12 and M18 cordless PEX installation tools. Now they are launching…

ForceLogic press tools for crimping supply fittings made by a handful of brands that share a like design (copper from Elkhart®, Viega®, Tyco®, and Nibco®; and Grinnell® Mechanical’s G-Press(TM) stainless steel press fittings). Crimping is faster than brazing or soldering and saves you the trouble of draining the system. It’s safer too because you’re not using a torch.

The M12 version (2473) will crimp copper fittings from 1/2- to 1 1/4-inch and the standard M18 version (2673) will handle copper from 1/2- to 4-inch as well as stainless steel fittings from 1/2- to 1-inch. Both tools launched in August 2012. An even stronger M18 press tool that will crimp stainless steel fittings up to 2 inches will follow in January 2013 (to be priced around $4,000).

The 2673-22 kit includes an M18 tool, case, charger, two batteries, and six sets of jaws (1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, and 2″). It retails for between $3,000 and $3,200. Larger jaws are available for pipe up to 4 inches in diameter.
