Hilti Hollow Drill Bit

1 MIN READ

I used to think that if you’ve seen one rotary hammer bit you’ve seen them all. But this bit is different – way different.

Hilti’s TE-CD and TE-YD bits are designed for collecting dust from holes as they are being drilled. This makes for a neater jobsite and allows contractors to glue rebar and anchors into holes without first brushing or blowing them clean. The hose from your vacuum connects to a rubber fitting that the bit passes through. The shaft of the bit is hollow and there’s a hole at the fitting and two holes just back from the tip. When the vac is on it pulls dust into the holes near the tip and out through the fitting. According to the manufacturer, these bits drill faster and last longer because the hole isn’t clogged with debris. Bits are available in sizes between 3/8” and 1” diameter.
