Blast From the Past: Cordless Nailers

1 MIN READ

Here’s a blast from the past, a 1998 JLC review of two cordless finish nailers. One of these products is still going strong; the other died an early death.

The review was written by Clayton DeKorne, the founding editor of Tools of the Trade. In it he compares the Paslode Impulse gun to the Porter-Cable Bammer. Paslode’s technology is still around — in fact, we recently reviewed their newest finish nailer. The Bammer is long gone and nearly forgotten. Occasionally, I’ll see one for sale on Craig’s List and wonder why anyone would buy a fuel powered gun for which fuel cells are no longer made.
