A recent technology survey, sponsored by sales and marketing consultants Rivers of Revenue, on how home services contractors use mobile technology shows that 79% use smart mobile devices for their businesses and 37% use industry-specific apps. Some suggestions:

- Redstick iCAD Chris Wright of WrightWorks, in Indianapolis, uses Redstick to draw existing space/as-builts, and, he says, “it interfaces with my Bluetooth tape measure.”
- Bakado James Andrus, owner of James Andrus Construction, in Lafayette, La., uses this scanner for bar and QR codes when searching for materials. “You click on it and it will tell you the cost and where you can find it.” —Stacey Freed, senior editor, REMODELING.
