Will Google’s New Site Help or Hurt the Remodeling Industry?

1 MIN READ

Google recently introduced a new service called Helpouts for people who need help to get real-time, live help via video. In a recent announcement they used this example: “If you’re a handyman/plumber and you’re looking to make some extra cash, you can now use Helpouts to connect with people from around the world over live video, and help them solve common household issues–like fixing a toilet that overflowed or a leaky sink.”

The service isn’t public yet and Google is asking people with expertise to sign up. If it takes off, what kind of impact might this have on the industry?
