The DIY Network announced today the approval of a new home renovation series featuring NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy. The four half-hour episodes will follow the couple as they transform a run-down house in the Old Town district of Key West, Fla. into a updated modern retreat.

Earnhardt Jr., who will retire at the end of the current NASCAR season, says in a press release “Amy and I are excited to take on our first home renovation project together. Amy is a fantastic designer. She has creative ideas and a strong work ethic. We love DIY projects around the house, and so I expect this to be challenging but fun.”

Senior Vice President John Feld of the DIY Network remarked in the release as well, “we’ve seen how Dale Jr. races a car, so we’re confident that with Amy’s help he will easily navigate the typical trials and tribulations of a home renovation.”

In order to make their dream a reality, the couple will have to tackle remodeling challenges that come with historic homes, including structural damage, faulty plumbing, and ancient wiring. The series is expected to premiere in early 2018.
