ProVia partnered with local sawmills and trim molders to mill the native wood profiles needed. Rather than using a veneer like other manufacturers, a cove wood design that takes stain and paint without cracking was created. Next, a local furniture craftsman developed a 4-step, high-end, K&B-approved finish that can withstand humidity and condensation.
ProVia developed the Aeris™ vinyl frames and sashes to allow the precision-milled and factory-finished wood components to merge together with each section of the frame. Once the vinyl frames and sashes are built, the furniture-grade wood is put in place, piece-by-piece, covering the vinyl from notice from the interior of the home.
ProVia’s Aeris home replacement windows feature real oak, cherry and maple wood interior options. A unique advantage of the Aeris product is the wood floats on the surface of the vinyl windows with a snap on expansion groove. As humidity changes in the home and wood shrinks and swells, it floats to accommodate the atmospheric changes. This is done by a patented glazing bead design. An added benefit of the floating wood design is it can be replaced if a customer changes their mind on stain color. ProVia will ship new wood pieces that can be snapped onto the window to replace the originals.
