Kebony Decking Receives ICC Certification

Now you can show a building inspector who is unfamiliar with the product an ICC-ES evaluation report.

Kebony’s Clear Radiata Pine and Southern Yellow Pine decking products are now certified to meet ICC criteria for preservative-treated wood, structural integrity, and decay-resistance. According to Kebony USA Sales Manager Andy Hehl, Kebony woods are treated with a bio-based liquid in a patented process that produces wood cell walls that are significantly thicker and provide a hardness that equals tropical hardwoods. The process initially produces a deep rich brown color; after exposure to sun and rain the wood develops a natural silver-gray patina. Kebony decking is milled and treated in Norway, but the company has a U.S. headquarters in St. Clair, Mich. You can download the ICC-ES evaluation report here.
