If you are attending the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas this year, consider joining Kim Katwijk and Clemens Jellema on their annual Deck Builder Photography Workshop. This year, the workshop will be held prior to IBS, leaving from Las Vegas on Friday January 17 and returning Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020 (the day that IBS starts). There is no fee, but attendees will be responsible for transportation from Las Vegas to the workshop sites in Utah and Arizona, and back again (and a few related park entrance fees), as well as for their own lodging and meals.

The Wave is a sandstone rock formation located in Arizona.
Featured this year will be a visit to The Wave, a unique sandstone rock formation well-known among hikers and photographers for its colorful, undulating forms. It’s located near the Arizona/Utah border, and the group will be staying in Kanab (early booking is recommended). Other possible destinations include the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park.
As you might guess by the itinerary, landscape and wildlife photography will be the focus of the workshop, but as in past years, skills learned during the course are directly applicable to deck photography. Video will also be covered, and evening sessions will introduce participants to editing software that can be used to transform photographs and raw video footage into useful tools for generating new leads and promoting your business.
For more information about the workshop, contact Clemens Jellema (finedecks@gmail.com) or Kim Katwijk (kdecks@gmail.com), or by sending your inquiry to prodeck@hanleywood.com.
