As part of Marketing Month in June, we revisited one of our favorite articles that concluded that creating a relationship with the local Realtor could help generate leads for your business. If you were on the fence about working with your local agent, this might tip you to one side: Houzz’s 2016 Houzz and Home Survey found that homeowners who recently bought a home in 2015 or those who were looking to sell their home in 2016 were the most active on Houzz in 2015.

The survey found that of the homeowners surveyed, 88% of respondents who bought a home in 2015 and 80% of respondents who plan to sell in 2016 completed a renovation on the main part of the home.

In addition to buying or selling a home being a reason for remodeling activity in 2015, 38% of respondents said that they have always wanted to complete a remodel and that they now have the time. This was the top trigger point for 2015, whereas the top reason in 2014 was that homeowners finally have enough money to fund their renovations.
