Participating in home shows

2 MIN READ

For the investment, we were getting very few leads. And those we did get were of low quality. Our main business is design/build, and the majority of people stopping at our booth asked if we did single-line projects.

Sure, we got exposure, but not to the type of people we like to do business with.

Focus Your Marketing The biggest bang for our dollar is a more targeted show — our annual Remodeling Home Tour. It’s our main venue to market our approach to remodeling. This event attracts the type of client who we like to work with from the neighborhoods we work in regularly.

Determine your costs for each of your marketing tools and track the results of your investment. If participating in your local home show brings in many good quality leads for the amount of time and money invested, than by all means continue with the program. Each of us needs to determine what works best for us when it comes to marketing, and then do more of it, and do it consistently.
