2018 IRC Online

Builders who occasionally need to check a reference in the building code but don’t want to lug around (and pay for) a catalog-sized print copy might be interested in the free online version of the 2018 IRC. Unlike the premium access online edition of the 2018 IRC (which requires a subscription), this version isn’t searchable, but it does include the table of contents and index, so you can still look things up old-school (Pro tip: The deck section is R507, in Chapter 5). You also can’t copy and paste text, tables, or details (except by taking screen shots). But if you already own a previous version of the IRC, this publication will allow you to quickly check if there have been any relevant updates to a particular section.
