Pick the Next Readers’ Tips Winner

1 MIN READ

PDB readers are invited to vote for the best tip. The prize? A tool from DeWalt.

For the last several years, PDB has teamed up with DeWalt to offer one of the company’s power tools to a reader who contributes a tip that we then go on to publish in the magazine. Up until now, winners have been chosen by the PDB edit team, but for our final issue of the year we’re switching things up. We’re giving PDB readers a chance to vote on which Tip is the best, using our Quick Vote platform as a digital voting machine. Here are the entries. Scroll down to place your vote.

1. Quick Rail Post Layout
Set your posts quickly and accurately using a pair of strings as your guide.

2. A Solid Landing Detail
Connect your stair stringers to a pair of 6x6s instead of a concrete landing.

3. Three Quick Tips for Better-Looking Decks
Hint: Two of them involve water.

4. Flexible Forms for Embedded PT Posts
Put those old drywall buckets that are cluttering up your workshop to good use.

5. Old-School Water Level
A length of plastic tubing filled with water streamlines the repair of a storm-damaged deck.
