Chicago carpenter Marlon Rodriguez tackled a floating curved staircase recently, and in the first of a series of three Instagram posts he explains how to to find the seat cut for the multiple plies of the material that he will use to laminate the curved stringer. Be sure to watch the next two videos in the series, too. In the second one, he demonstrates his laminating technique, and in the third video he uses a router with a flush bearing bit to roughly shape the steps.
