Thanks to GuildQuality’s newest product, GuildQuality Crew, individual laborers and tradesmen now have the chance to market themselves for free. This new service–think of it as ‘Tinder for the trades’–lets individuals build their own profiles and highlight skills and accomplishments. It also gives owners the opportunity to find top talent within their respective industry.
CEO and founder Geoff Graham says the goal of Crew is to “give every person working in our industry a free profile with which they can post pictures of their work, share skills and check in to jobsites where they are working.”
There is also an option to search for contractors by name or based on skill, as well as give or receive endorsements.
Citing shortages of skilled labor in the industry, Graham also says, “I believe we can ease the pain by making more visible the work of the best skilled laborers and trades out there. Moreover, by highlighting their great work, we can make it more obvious to ambitious young people that a rewarding career awaits them in construction.”
Crew is still in its early phases, and most of the profiles belong to general contractors who have already established a relationship with GuildQuality. Graham says developments are planned for April/May, including a service update to enable messaging between users, the ability for Guildmembers to post job openings, the ability for crew members to apply for jobs, and optimizing pages so they show up better in search results in Google, Bing, etc.
