ASKO North American has recalled its dishwasher products because of possible fire hazards. The recall involves 14 dishwasher models from the manufacturer, according to an announcement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

According to the CPSC, the power cords on ASKO’s dishwashers can overheat, posing a fire hazard to homeowners. ASKO North America received 53 reports of the power cord overheating, but has received no reports of property damage or injuries. The products were sold exclusively at ASKO North America authorized dealers across the U.S. between October 2016 and July 2019.

The recalled dishwashers come in stainless steel with customizable doors and handles. For identification, ASKO is printed in the front and in the center on the top dish rack and the serial and model numbers are printed on the inside on the left side of the dishwasher door opening. According to the CPSC, consumers should immediately stop using the dishwashers, turn off the power to the product at the circuit board, and contact the manufacturer for a free, in-home repair.
