The Fire Wall Hanger for Beams and Purlins, or FWHBP.

MiTek’s newest FWH Fire Wall Hanger Connector the Fire Wall Hanger for Beams and Purlins (FWHBP), is now available nationwide. The FWHBP can support loads of over 5,700 pounds and transfer those loads into supporting walls. The hanger bears on the wall’s top plates, and directly attaches to its stud pack or post.

The FWHBP hangers may be installed before drywall is attached, eliminating an extra framing step. This shortens and eases the installation process, and allows a project to be fully framed and weather-tight before drywall arrives.

“With this new, high-load-capacity fire wall hanger, and our original FWH connector, MiTek has solved a persistent problem in the framing of wood-framed structures,” says MiTek’s Steve Brekke. “As with the original FWH, the FWHBP can be installed during the framing stage and before the drywall arrives on site, eliminating a framing step, and lowering exposure of the drywall to weather or damage.”
