The GeoSpring hybrid electric water heater uses up to 62% less electricity than a standard electric water heater, with an estimated return-on-investment of just 2½ years, the maker says. Together, heat-pump technology and traditional electric water heating let the unit transfer heat from ambient air to the stored water. Specialized controls, such as vacation mode, will lower the water temperature to 50° F for the duration of a trip. GE | 800.952.5039 | geappliances.com http://www.geappliances.com
