Most people with a municipal water service take water for granted. Turn on the faucet, and out comes a never-ending stream from the water utility. Not so in the country — it takes a lot of work and money to get water. And even then, the water comes from a small water pressure tank within your house, and you have a limited amount. To understand how a well system works, let’s start at the tank. The tank is not filled to the top with water. If it were, you would get nothing out of the faucet. Because water will not compress, it’s the air trapped above the water
