LiteSteel Beam. Made from cold-formed, lightweight steel, LiteSteel Beams (LSB) combine the strength of steel with the workability normally associated with wood beams and headers. The LSB design incorporates two fully welded hollow flanges and a flat, thin web that combine for maximum structural performance and load-carrying capacity. Suitable as basement, garage, roof, and ridge beams; long-span headers; and floor and deck supports, LSB weighs only 7.5 pounds per linear foot and can be cut to length on the jobsite with a circular saw, and drilled, screwed, bolted, and nailed using standard professional tools. It is available in 12 sizes ranging in nominal beam depth from 8 to 14 inches. www.litesteelbeam.com. 877-285-2607. –L.H.

Tonusa. The cabinet manufacturer has teamed up with esteemed designer Fu-Tung Cheng to create elements, a contemporary line of cabinets that offer elevated design at a moderate price. Heat & Glo by Hearth & Home Technologies. Part of the company’s Modern Collection, the LUX60 is a 60-inch direct-vent gas fireplace for buyers who want to make a style statement. Instead of faux logs, flames originate from a sculptural burner of randomly placed stainless steel tubes, and LED lights in the refractory create yet another dramatic effect with or without the flames. A sealed combustion system keeps carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and excess moisture from entering the home. www.hearthnhome.com. –N.M.

Fi-Foil. GFP (Gas-Filled Panel) insulation is filled on site with argon, krypton, or xenon gas to provide an R-value up to 11. The product consists of two external foil/polymer laminates and internal aluminum metalized films; as gas fills the chamber, the product expands to form an internal honeycomb structure. The design and components address three methods of heat transfer: radiation, conduction, and convection. GFP is fiber free, does not off-gas, is mold resistant, and ships flat, the company says. 800-448-3401. www.fifoil.com. –K.T.
