While considered a dated home design trend for a number of years, wallpaper has made a slow but steady comeback to interior home design.
Now, the easy-to-install material can be used to create fun accent walls that resemble trendy exposed brick or concrete for a client who wants an industrial style aesthetic, or bring a dynamic component to the room with tasteful patterns.
The key to using wallpaper in a thoughtfully-designed room is to make sure it enriches the space, but doesn’t command all the focus. As designer Bobby Berk of Bobby Berk Interiors & Design says of his latest wallpaper collection with Tempaper, wallpaper should be “inspired by simple forms, that when repeated will create gorgeous patterns that can be paired with any number of different aesthetics and looks. I focused on a neutral color palette that allows the wallpaper to enhance your space, but never overpower.”
Ranging from faux-brick or imitation marble to stylish geometric patterns and artistic murals, these five wallpaper companies offer new design collections that will give clients that extra pop they’re looking for in a newly remodeled room.

For the second season, wallpaper company Tempaper partnered with celebrity designer Bobby Berk to create a Scandinavian-inspired wallpaper line. The collection includes a spatter print in gold-on-white or black-on-white designs, a “Connect” design inspired by connecting the dots, and a simple line design in rose-and-white or washed-on-white colors.

The Textured Wallpaper line makes creating accent walls easy with paper that looks like authentic building materials. These texture-effect papers imitate a number of materials including brick, wood paneling, marble, concrete, leather, and more.

Aimée Wilder’s new collection Phantasmagoria is inspired by galactic visions, jungle adventures, and desert wanderings. The line offers patterns in everything from jungle scenes and cheetah prints to moving cosmos and desert-scapes complete with cacti to capture the feel of the Southwest. Each line comes in a variety of color options.
Znak and Dutch

This unique modular wallpaper from Manufacturer Znak and Dutch conceptual artist Aldo Kroese is a tear-off wallpaper that allows homeowners or designers to create their own designs. The Tear-Off vinyl paper can be torn off and arranged in a repeating pattern of dew drop shapes. Overlaying the design on an existing color wall adds an extra dynamic element.

Brooklyn-based Flavor Paper is another option for homeowners looking for a textured paper. The “Natural” texture line brings elements of nature into the home with wood panel wallpaper and plant life. For a fun way to glam up a space, the company has a few offerings with both physical and visual texture that you can feel, like the Shoes pattern with glitter.
