2. DuPont Launches Industry First Insulating Housewrap
Two years of R&D are behind DuPont’s latest product, Thermawrap R5.0. The material’s construction features an insulation blanket bonded to Tyvek housewrap, launching the company into the business of continuous insulation. Thermawrap R5.0 ‘s Tyvek layer keeps air and bulk water out of walls and serves as a vapor barrier. The blanket increases the temperature of the sheathing, improving energy efficiency and decreasing the chance for interstitial wall condensation, the maker says.
