Steel-Toe Kickers

Boots, styles, prices, history

1 MIN READ

Iron Age Footwear’s website says it has been building boots since before WWI.

That’s a long time before Facebook came along, which is how I heard of them. I looked on their website and was pleasantly surprised—mainly by price.

Lots of boots out there cost, well, a lot. And they may or may not last very long. We’ve all seen our share of hiker-style boots shedding the overmolded racing stripes meant to make them look cool, or toes that wear out, or soles that separate.

Iron Age hangs its hard hat on the steel-and-composite toe hook, touting that each pair (at least each pair I looked at) meets ANSI safety standards.

So, if your toes want a hard hat, I saw attractive pricing on some rugged-looking styles, like the 6-inch Iron Age Dozer ($99) or the composite toe Trencher ($85) and even the steel toe Board Rage for you stylers out there ($70). Another cost-friendly item on the website: a $15 memory foam insole.
