CertainTeed’s UnderShield water-diversion system is designed to keep below-deck spaces dry. Vinyl panels measuring 16 feet long by 6 inches wide attach to a concealed grid that’s attached in turn to the deck framing. The panels, which divert water to the edge of the deck, are available in chamfer or beaded styles and in three colors: white, gray, and wicker.
Stainless steel hardware is included. Full installation instructions, as well as instructions for installing a light fixture or fan in a panel-covered ceiling, are available at CertainTeed’s website.
UnderShield is covered by a limited lifetime warranty and sells for between $6 and $7 per square foot.
