Deck Furniture

Outdoor furniture matches decking

1 MIN READ

Trex has announced it will be marketing a line of outdoor furniture — Adirondack chairs, ottomans, sofas, coffee tables, and dining sets — in colors that complement its Transcend decking.

The company is not making the furniture out of the same material as its decking, however. Trex has signed a licensing agreement with Syracuse, Ind.-based plastic-furniture maker Poly-Wood, which will manufacture the line from Poly-Wood’s blend of high-density polyethylene plastic, 90 percent of which is recycled. Raw materials include milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles.

Trex says the furniture is designed to be durable and weather resistant and should resist rotting, splintering, and cracking without the need to stain, seal, or paint. It’s also resistant to food spills, insects, mold, and mildew and carries a five-year warranty.
