GRK Deck Harness Lateral-Load-Connector Kit

1 MIN READ

GRK says its Deck Harness lateral load connector kit is designed to meet a code requirement calling for hold-down devices with a minimum allowable stress design capacity of 1,500 pounds to be installed on at least two locations on decks attached to a house’s rim joist. The kit consists of a steel chain that passes through a plastic plug installed through the deck ledger and rim joist. The chain is attached at each end with a U-bolt and a washer plate. GRK says the kit will help prevent a deck from collapsing due to failure of the ledger board. GRK, 800.263.0463, grkfasteners.com
