The Dekmax APS aluminum decking system is waterproof, fireproof, maintenance-free, and is guaranteed for life. Made of 6005A T6 marine-grade aluminum, the decking has a channel-and-gutter design that the manufacturer says creates completely waterproof joints between planks. Besides being very strong, aluminum has a high thermal conductivity which allows the decking to dissipate heat rapidly. The aluminum planks are available with a powder-coated finish in earth and wood-tone colors. The manufacturer says that the uninstalled cost for the decking, which is manufactured in Utah, is about $16.00 per square foot.
