Every two years, Hanley Wood, the parent company of Professional Deck Builder, surveys remodeling pros to learn about what counts most in selecting the products they buy and which brand names they hold in regard. The poll of 855 remodelers was conducted in May and June by The Farnsworth Group, an Indianapolis-based market research firm, on behalf of Hanley Wood. Among other questions, the survey asked pros to name which brands in 54 product categories they had heard of, which they have used in the past two years, which they use most often, and which they regard as tops in quality.
REMODELING (PDB‘s sister publication) recently published the results of this year’s study, which includes several categories of interest to deck builders. In the composite decking and railing categories, for example, Trex and Azek shared top billing, while EraWood and YellaWood shared top honors in the wood decking category. The most popular tool brand? DeWalt.
