OK, I confess: I find science in general, and building science in particular, to be really interesting—especially the more esoteric stuff—(that may qualify me as a nerd!). I’m also a sucker for really bad jokes. So when I receive Foster Lyons’s Building Science Sunday emails every couple of weeks, I open them immediately. Every BSS email starts with a bad joke, so instantly I’m hooked. Then there is the question of the day that may or may not deal directly with building science. For example, “Does stack effect have anything to do with pancakes?” Or “Why is static electricity so shocking in winter?”
But despite Lyon’s wordplay, his insightful answers always deal with science—and in a way that keeps my eyes from glazing over, which is a real accomplishment. So for those curious souls out there who enjoy pertinent information delivered in a fun and engaging fashion, I’d recommend subscribing to Building Science Sunday and getting hooked on the “Quiz.” You can sign up here.
