Lots are getting smaller. Here’s a new farmhouse plan that’s just 26 feet wide but manages to fit in four bedrooms, including the flexible in-law suite on the main floor.

On the exterior, modern farmhouse styling feels on trend and gets warmed up with paired porch columns drawing the eye to the entrance.

Inside, take a look at that office/fourth bedroom. The attached bathroom, which is also accessed from the hallway, adds maximum versatility so this zone can serve as a suite for relatives or guests. The simple, open gathering spaces flow outside to the back porch.

Upstairs, the main suite and two additional bedrooms let families with young children stay close. The laundry room is up here too, for extra convenience. In the main suite, a large walk-in closet and two sinks in the bathroom are modern upscale touches.
