Damage Control and Restoration of Kansas City, Kan., has agreed to pay a $12,194 penalty after being accused of violating the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, according to a press release from the EPA today. A random record keeping inspection discovered that the company had not distributed required pamphlets or retained records documenting lead safe work practices.
The RRP Rule attempts to reduce lead paint exposure from toxic lead dust that can be spread during home renovations. Lead exposure can lead to several adverse health effects. The EPA maintains a website where you can submit tips on projects that may have violated the RRP Rule. Check it out here.
