This Award-Winning Revamp Gives a Ranch House New Life

RADA-winning design increases the light and interior space but not the footprint

RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECT, a sister publication to REMODELING, has given one of its 2014 design awards to this revamp of a ranch house in a New York suburb. Zoning restrictions and budget concerns kept the house’s footprint unchanged, but within those confines the project doubled the height of the living room, added light from new clerestory windows, and reconfigured the interior spaces.
