This is a nicely detailed, well thought-out tool. The depth-of-cut is enough for one-pass cuts in 2×2 and 2×3 framing stock and small bundles of bar. It has enough oomph for two-pass cuts in 2-by framing and punches through thicker-walled products like gas pipe. I like the feel, balance, and switches. Good power, nice balance, and a good cut depth make this a nice saw on site. It plowed through every material we threw at it. I like the balance and the switches. I almost like the amber-colored blade guard; it provides excellent sight lines, but the color makes it hard to see through. The vacuum port is a good idea, but impractical for my sites. | Price

I like how this tool feels. It got through lighter materials quickly and is my choice for quick cuts and one-off work where speed matters. The trigger is easy to pull and the switches are well designed. I liked this saw. It’s got the second largest cut capacity in the test and muscled through everything I put in front of it. Its balance is fine and the chip collector works. It doesn’t get through 2×4 bundles in a single pass, though, and I wish its chip collector was easier to remove. | Price
