Bosch 12-Volt Router

1 MIN READ

At first blush, this thing looks cool. The Bosch GKF 12V-25N 12-Volt Palm Edge Router is lightweight and balanced, Bosch says. I buy it. I’ve had its Colt forever. The pedigree is there. But the Colt’s base is small and sometimes hard to keep flat on a workpiece. So this new configuration looks intriguing.

The switch is housed inside the handle. I’d be interested to see how easy it is to toggle—searching for a router’s switch is annoying. Bosch says that when rounding 0.2 inches of beech (I’m guessing it means using a small roundover bit), you can get 23 feet per charge. I’d bet it’s double that in PT, pine, or cedar. It spins at 13,000 rpm.

The tool is sold bare for $150. Batteries and chargers are sold separately. There are several good reviews on the website.
