Bosch Half-Sheet Sander

1 MIN READ

Random orbital sanders have become so popular that many woodworkers seem to have forgotten about half-sheet sanders. And yet, if you need to produce a really flat surface, a half-sheet sander is the way to go. The newest tool in this category is Bosch’s OS50VC, which I got to see the JLC LIVE tradeshow.

Features include a 3.4-amp motor, variable –speed trigger, and clamps that automatically pull the paper tight. Vibration is dampened by a series of dense foam blocks that isolate the motor from the handle and housing. Dust can be collected two ways: through a vacuum hose or with the supplied canister and filter. The tool is made in Switzerland and sells for about $380.
