Remodeling contractor Paul Johnson had an older Makita cordless grinder (a 2006 model) he used for intermittent tasks such as cutting metal closet rod and the occasional piece of rebar. The tool’s runtime was such he switched to corded for heavier work or more continuous cutting or grinding. Makita recently released a brushless grinder. It came out too late to make our recent comparative test but was just in time for Johnson to review it for JLC.
