At a recent media event Walt has announced the first in a new line of sanders, the DWE6423K 5-inch Random Orbit Sander. Part of the company’s Perform & Protect line, it is designed to provide low vibration and a high level of dust containment. Vibration is reduced through the use of a separate counterweight, which insures a smoother finish and greater comfort and control for the operator.
A rubber dust skirt has been added to minimize the amount of dust escaping from around the pad. The dust collection port fits a one-handed locking bag (included) as well as the special fitting on the end of DeWalt Dust Extractors (DWV012 and DWV010). At 2.9 pounds and 5 1/2 inches tall, it is short and light for a tool of its kind—making it easier to use and maneuver.
