AEG’s power tools look a lot like Ridgid’s – as well they should, since AEG is owned by TTI.
TTI is a Hong Kong based company that has a licensing agreement to produce hand-held tools under the Ridgid brand for Emerson (which owns the brand). In addition to AEG, TTI owns Milwaukee, Ryobi, Homelite, Hoover, Dirt Devil, and Vax (vacuum cleaners).
The cordless tools from Ridgid and AEG appear to be identical – as do some of the corded models. But they are not quite identical, because AEG tools are distributed in Europe and Australia, where the power standard is 230 volts.
Among the more interesting tools sold under the AEG label but not under Ridgid’s are a plunge cutting circular saw, a dust extractor, and a cordless power planer.
