Hitachi’s First 15-Amp Wormdrive Circular Saw

Hitachi adds a corded saw to its lineup, this one aimed at framing contractors.

The newest addition to Hitachi’s circular saw line is the C7WDM, a 15-amp wormdrive circular saw; this is the first wormdrive saw from Hitachi. According to the manufacturer, the saw’s gears will deliver longer life than its competition.

It is fully equipped with a 7-1/4-inch blade size and a 15-amp motor that delivers 5,000 rpm (no-load). The bevel capacity on the C7WDM ranges from 0° to 53°. According to the specs, at 45° it can make a 1-3/4-inch cut, and at 90°, maximum cut capacity is 2 3/8 inches. The wormdrive saw also features an ergonomically designed, soft grip, non-slip rear handle; a lightweight magnesium base with easy-to read scales on the front and side; and steel levers for adjustment. Additional features are a three-position hook for storage, carbon brushes included for replacement, and a blade wrench housed in the base.

The Hitachi C7WDM includes the 15A wormdrive circular saw, two 24T premium 7-1/4-inch VPR Framing Blades, and a five-year warranty.
