You wouldn’t normally think of a blower as a carpentry tool, but it can be when used to clean the last bit of mess off a subfloor or driveway or out of the shop or the back of a vehicle. Most blowers have cords or two-stroke gas engines; this one (BUB360Z2C) takes a pair of 18-volt lithium ion batteries – the same ones used in Makita’s other cordless tools. With the adapter removed it can be used with 36-volt batteries (it’s a 36-volt tool) but hardly anyone in this country owns those.
The 2-speed motor moves air at speeds up to 208 MPH and is said by its maker to have 30 minutes of runtime on the lower setting. It’s quieter than using a gas-powered model and can be used indoors without fear of fumes. The blower is sold bare and goes for $219.
