More Uses for WD-40

I swear this isn’t clickbait.

Obviously, we all have a can or 90 of WD-40, and we probably all know that it solves other problems by working as a sealer or solvent. This article at Science101.com gives a few I’ve never heard of that probably would come in handy on a jobsite.

When you’re painting a room that’s got crayon on the wall, WD will dissolve it, and it won’t then mess with primer or paint coverage, according to the article. Heck, you just might be the guy who saves the day on a customer walk through. You know Mrs. Jones, WD-40 will take care of that mess. I have a can in my truck.

Boom. Hero.

Or not.

Spray it on your windshield before a winter storm. No ice.

Water stains in the shower. Gone, they say.

And does your tool bag zipper not zip? Spray it.

I think my favorite might be sticker gunk. I’ve bought drywall knives whose labeling is nearly permanent, until it starts falling off a little in my Durabond as it dries instantly. Remove stickers from windows, appliances, whatever with a little more ease.

Slick, huh?
