My background is in carpentry, so I don’t even like concrete (well, maybe a little). But I love going to the World of Concrete because it’s a fun tradeshow where companies unveil new tools and let people run them.
Held each February in Las Vegas, it fills three huge exhibition halls (I swear, I think I saw the curvature of the earth in one of them) and four outdoor lots. For those of you who couldn’t attend, I put together this 99-second video of the sights and sounds of the show.
Most of the clips were shot in the outdoor lots because that’s where it’s possible to run tools without having to worry about making a mess. And people make a mess—and noise too, because at any given moment hundreds of the 56,000 people in attendance are driving and riding various contraptions, and breaking, sawing, and drilling concrete.
