Here’s a quick video of an accessory from Metabo that allows masons to remove mortar without creating choking clouds of dust.
It’s called the Dust Director and it fits over the end of most 4 1/2-inch, 5-inch, and 6-inch Metabo grinders. When used in conjunction with a powerful vacuum it collects nearly all of the dust generated by tuckpointing work. This tool has been out for years but the World of Concrete was my first opportunity to see it in action.
