Why Use 2P-10 Adhesive?

Some carpenters love it – particularly for mitered returns.

Casey Knips, a lead carpenter and co-owner of Terra Firma Building & Remodeling Co-op in St. Paul, MN, uses 2P-10 for mitered returns. In his Instagram post he says using 2p-10 is so nice for returns. “I could use glue, but there’s always a chance of the piece slightly moving while I pin nail it. And you can see from the 2nd picture, it was a tighter, cleaner joint than with 2p-10. I try to use glue on as much as I can but with small pieces like this, the super glue works quite well. With this glue, I’m able to have both hands on the pieces to get it exactly where I want it. I’ve tried other super glue adhesives but this has worked for the best for me.” When asked about the working time he replies, “I don’t know how much open time there is after spraying the activator but I usually go pretty fast because it only takes a few seconds for alignment, about 10 seconds to set up and 30 seconds to cure. This is with spraying the activator, but there is more open time if it’s just the adhesive and not both.”

j.welterweightThe samurai carpenter also recommends this. I’ll probably buy some 2p-10 next time I do a bunch of trim

restorationwoodworksBig fan of the 2p-10 for all returns …

platinum_carpentryLove the stuff! In my own house I have some natural 4 5/8″ cherry crown and I used the 2p-10 on every miter with a dab on wood glue on the beefy part and they all look the same they did when I put it up! Tightly tight!!
